nach unserem geglueckten label-auftakt in 2013 wollen wir dieses jahr direktdaran anknuepfen. den anfang machen unsere residents der ersten stunde,kuriose naturale, mit ihrem debuet-release. die ep heisst >some might work< und laesst damit eine menge musikalischen interpretationsspielraum.der a1-track traegt den titel >madame psychosis< und hier ist der name dann auch gleich programm. durch seine duestere sound-aesthetik erzeugt das stueck eine einzigartige spannung ueber die gesamte track-laenge, die einen ganz sicher in ihren bann ziehen wird. weiter geht es auf der a-seite mit >up from here<, der deutlich groovebasierter daher kommt. getragen wird der track von kurzen aber doch eingaengigen vocals und einer hypnotischen synth-melodie, die einen fast schon an film-musik erinnert ohne dabei natürlich den fokus auf die tanzbarkeit zu verlieren. die b-seite beschäftigt sich dann ausschliesslich mit dem ep-titel >some mightwork< - angefangen mit dem gleichnamigen original, welches zunächst etwas vertraeumter daher kommt aber spaetestens ab der mitte des tracks seine clubtauglichkeit voll unter beweis stellt. den remix hierzu steuert kein geringer als kellerkind bei, der eine wunderbare oldschool-house interpretation angefertigt hat. durch die vocal-schnipsel aus dem original, die warmen chords und die voluminoese bassline fehlt es wirklich an nichts um auf jedem house-floor dieser welt bestehen zu koennen. wir freuen uns wirklich sehr mit diesem facettenreichen release ins neue jahr zu starten und hoffen sehr, dass ihr die freude teilt!

alans new single on drumcode demonstrates exactly why alan fitzpatrick is a powerhouse within the techno scene. the tetra will enrapture the dance floor from the off with its brooding nature and syncopated claps. it pushes forwards with glistening highs before more melodic stabs join the equation and slowly the beautiful melodic phrase partakes in this outstanding piece of work. on the flip we are forever young finishes off the single with a slow burning after hours vibe that will keep the clubbers nodding.

ron morelli returns to stare down the ‘floor with four pieces written during the stress-busting sessions for ‘spit’. the muggy, droning welt of ‘public consumption’ kicks off with the sound of new york techno shot from the hip, while ‘another hit’ vents a vintage era-regis style built on skull-chipping snares and effluent acid modulation. the album’s writhing batacuda banger, ‘crack microbes’ reappears here as an extra-ferric extended version, sustaining the hypnotic intensity for nine minutes of panic attack acid and febrile cowbells, while ‘’rushing again’ escorts us to a close with triplet techno shook down by railgun snares and a grotty synthline.

after a few highly praised moments this year (a 23 track magnum opus album, entitled >ascensus< on gerds seminal label 4lux, as well as a best selling ep on chicagos high rising record label stripped & chewed, amongst others), kaspar debuts on tomorrow is now, kid! with an incredible four tracker called >spice of light<. his leanings towards the esoteric and spiritual are evident throughout, and contrasted with sexual tips and pure physical pleasure through his rough beat work. the whole set is aimed at the creation of a unique, personal sound that searches the deepest recesses of the authors creativity while still true to the sound track of the dance floor. a four tracker to file under some of the most unique moments in recent releases.

atomium focuses on collaborations between artists. this second release from the belgian label brings out a collaboration between two berlin-based producers releasing two astonishing house tracks. pm is composed by martin teysera (herencia, cynosure, 31377 records) and philippe liedekerke aka pipo vitch (atomium, hatchwork, toys for boys). >restless<, the a-side of the ep, brings some jacking flavors and twisted spacy stabs on the dance floor. the analog synths trace the line and you just need to start the dance : a classic club track for the end of 2013. >back home<, the b-side, is led by a monster bassline that keeps the groove locked while the guitars delightly bring your brain either back on earth or on another journey. this full analog ep is definitely something to watch out. bring it on and make some noises ! tip

a column of bull ants moves across the rain forest floor, constantly moving limbs shift like the tidal flow of a river. each carries a large bright leaf in its mandibles maybe twenty or thirty times its size. the column swerves around a tendril-like air duct that services a chamber below. one strays too close and slips down still carrying its leaf. it flies down the air pipe and is projected into the interior of an anechoic chamber. beads of sweat ooze down bintus grizzled brow as he continues experiments into noiseless ultra bass. if applied correctly this acoustic energy can have devastating effects.
